Dear faculty advisors, sponsors, delegates, ladies, and gentlemen:

My name is Juan Pablo Salcedo, and it’s a privilege to welcome you to the eighteenth session of BIMUN and to to the Third Committee of the United Nations: The Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM). I’m really excited to be presiding this honorable committee alongside my Co-president Juan Daniel Calderón. Both of us expect an incredible preparation, disposition, and commitment from you, in order to achieve our goals and make this Model of the United Nations the best one that this school and the region has seen. This will be your best opportunity to demonstrate your capacities, learn and teach others the right path to solve problems, that we can achieve what we propose to ourselves and that everything it’s possible.
In this committee, we await you to show off your best and try to solve world issues with intelligence and strong hand, with the truth and justice on your side. We truly hope that all delegations that will be present in this committee, will debate and defend their position in the best way, looking forward to solve a problematic, guarantee a stable world and the best for the international community. Remember the goal of the United Nations and stick to it throughout the debates, and take the initiative to make our society a better one for you and for all.

My name is Juan Daniel Calderon and it is an honor to me to preside the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (SOCHUM) with my co-president Juan Pablo Salcedo.
It is a pleasure to be your former guide in this model in which you would take the responsibility to represent off in the diverse delegations. From my roll of leader, I want my delegates to develop in a way of discipline, respect and the best disposition and preparation to any problematic disposed along with the committee along the several days of debate in order to achieve our goals and make this Model of the United Nations the best one. We await that in this committee the delegates would present the most viable and intelligent solutions showing leadership and strong hand awaiting all delegations would participate constantly. This would be your best opportunity to demonstrate your capacities, learn and teach others the right way to solve the problems that make our world unsuitable for the next generations. Remember the goal of the United Nations and stick to it throughout the debates, and take the initiative to make our society a better one for you and for all.
